Multi-agency Partnership Award
The multi-agency partnership self-evaluation framework comprises of nine aspects which align with the Children’s Workforce common core of skills and knowledge in multi-agency working. These aspects cover:
- Policy, procedures and legal responsibilities
- The working environment
- Leadership and management
- Communication and information sharing
- Inter-professional relationships and roles
- Team working
- Resources
- Working with service users/clients
- Professional learning
The multi-agency partnership framework is appropriate to use in Children’s Services, Early Years settings, Children’s Centres, mainstream primary and secondary schools, special schools, Academies, FE Colleges and PRUs. Each of the nine multi-agency aspects comprises of ten elements (descriptors), which enable a service or educational setting to gather the required evidence to meet all the criteria.
The process usually takes a year, and includes: undertaking an initial audit against the nine aspects; producing an action plan; compiling a multi-agency partnership portfolio of evidence; and participating in a half day on-site external assessment. When all nine aspects of multi-agency partnership working have been met an award plaque, a framed certificate and a digital logo are obtained. The Multi-Agency Partnership Award remains valid for three years, and can be renewed for a further three years upon reassessment.
The publication Developing and Evaluating Multi-agency Partnerships. A Practical Toolkit for School and Children’s Centre Managers is the essential handbook providing the self-evaluation framework and guidance for auditing, action planning and compiling the multi-agency portfolio of evidence. Tailored packages of high quality consultancy and support is offered to those services and settings embarking on the award process. The Multi-Agency Partnership Award supports the Government’s common core of skills and knowledge in multi-agency working, required by the children and young peoples workforce.
