Project: Promoting the emotional health of children and young people

Rita was commissioned by the NCSS, along with four other consultants to undertake research on behalf of the DCSF in 2009, to explore how a representative sample of Children’s Services, across the country were promoting and addressing the emotional health of children and young people. The two local authorities Rita undertook research in were Cumbria County Council and Kirklees. The findings from the collective research resulted in the publication of the previous Government’s guidance for Children’s Trust partnerships, on how to deliver National Indicator 50.

Project: Supporting children with learning disabilities

Rita was commissioned by the NCSS on behalf of the DCSF/DfE in 2010, to undertake a short research project to scope the current training available to the children’s workforce to support them in working with children and young people with learning disabilities, behavioural, emotional and social difficulties in need of support from emotional well-being and mental health services. The final internal report, which was presented to the DfE in July 2010, helped to inform future training for the children and young people’s workforce, in learning disabilities.
